Playa de Levante, Benidorm is famed as a holiday resort, attracting visitors from all over Europe to its fantastic weather and non-stop entertainment. Since Benidorm is a visitors' resort, don't expect too much of an authentic Spanish experience; instead just lie back and enjoy the sun, sand, sea, UK pubs and restaurants. There is also some lovely hilly scenery along the coast and inland of Benidorm for those that wish to explore a little further.
A sleepy little fishing village just 50 years ago, Benidorm has developed into one of Spain's most well known and loved holiday resorts. Stretching 3 miles along the coast, it offers two main sandy beaches: Poniente, which is west of the Old Town and Playa De Levante, where the main concentration of hotels is. These beaches are wide and sandy, but they can become very crowded in high season. An attractive promenade runs along both. Entertainments in the resort include Terra Mitica (Mythical Land), a huge theme park with rides, shows and interactive games, which is a haven for families.
